Christopher Skyner is a public art curator and creative director based in Sydney, and the founder of ART AID. For more than a decade he has worked at the intersection of contemporary art, property, and brands, curating and delivering hundreds of public art and artist led commissions across Australia and New Zealand, spanning landmark murals, sculpture, digital campaigns, illustration, artist residencies, live music, and cultural activations for many of the country's most prominent precincts and brands.

His Australian career began in fashion before moving into consultancy for brands and developers. In 2015 he founded Authority Creative, an award winning agency working in contemporary art curation and production, and spent the years that followed building one of the most extensive commissioning records in the country.

The giving thread runs even longer. In 2005 he spent six months volunteering at an animal refuge in Bolivia, rehabilitating pumas and capuchin monkeys. In 2013 he spent three months volunteering on the build of the Bali Life orphanage in Ungasan while travelling through Indonesia.

For years the two threads ran side by side, commercial curation on one hand, a deepening commitment to communities on the other. In 2021 he brought them together and launched ART AID, a practice built to connect artists with opportunity while directing a portion of every project's profit to the causes it believes in. By 2024, ART AID had outgrown its older sibling, drawing clients, press, and public attention in its own right, and Christopher closed Authority Creative to lead ART AID full time.

Under his leadership, ART AID has helped fund the Bali Life Street Kids Centre and Women's Workshop in Denpasar, creative programs for the Fiji School for the Blind, and a creative residency at Sydney's Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice with Dexus, alongside financial support for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and the Women's and Girls' Emergency Centre.

Today ART AID works with clients including Lendlease, Mirvac, Barings, Coronation Property, IFM Investors, and the NSW Government.
